On September 24th, 25th and 26th GTs Advocates LLP hosted a training seminar with internationally renowned consultants from Allen and Overy. The seminar, "International Legal Agreements and International Arbitration", was held at Best Western Tuushin Hotel in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The seminar was co-hosted with Mongol Advocates LLP, a fellow local firm. The training event offered access to seminars on legal concepts, both in theory and in practice, and offered special know-how from experts with decades of experience in the field.
Mr. Ian Elder led a two day seminar on international legal agreements. Mr. Elder was head of A&O's Global Energy and Utilities group; working with A&O's major clients including BG, Centrica, ICI, RWE and Shell. Now retired since 2006, he leads training seminars across the world.
Mr. Andrew Jeffries led a one day seminar on international arbitration. Mr. Jeffries has over 22 years of experience in the A&O Litigation and Dispute Resolution, group (13 years as partner) and also sat as a judge in the High Court of Hong Kong. His practice has included high profile disputes across diverse industry sectors: the Manila water system, a power plant in Korea, FX derivatives in Poland, and the U.S insolvency of Lehmans.
Both of the trainers offered truly valuable insight and provided our Ulaanbaatar based team with knowledge and know-how. This particular training event was in honor of our firm's 15th year anniversary and was a valuable opportunity to celebrate our achievements, but most importantly, to reflect, learn, and grow as a team.
